One of my first Celebrity Spottings in NYC!

So yesterday Scott saw Jason Bateman...A movie called "Basted" is being filmed just a couple of blocks from our apartment on Broadway. Then as the girls and I, a friend and her two daughters were walking to the park after school today, we saw the other star of the film...

Not the best picture ever but hey, we were there.

There were a bunch of photographers that had been waiting all day. We walked by, stopped for about 3 minutes, just to see if she would be exiting the mobile trailer and sure enough, she did! It was very fast, but I managed to get a few pictures and she even waved to the girls after she got in the car! I was quite pleased myself. As we continued to walk to Hippo Park in Riverside, we walked by the apartment building that the movie is being filmed in! It was by total chance that we chose the exact street to walk down. Woohoo! They will be there the next 6 days, so I'm having Scott go check things out to see if he can get a peak at the hottie too!:)

I don't follow celebrities very closely, don't watch "E" or read the magazines, but this is exciting to see happen in our very own neighborhood!

The afternoon before Easter, my parents made their Famous Fabbi Subs and we decorated eggs...they were especially beautiful this year with all of the little girls and their unique ideas!


Easter was quite delightful this year. It was much more relaxing than I remember past years being...we're finally getting past those toddler days, thank heavens! We spent the evening at my Grandparent Fabbi's, I love spending holidays at their house, so many good memories. All of the children played so nicely together, they ate their ham, (we can't afford good ham out here, so we indulge when we come to visit and on holidays! ;) Played with Dawn-Marie's and Brad's 2 week old puppies and of course the bunnies that Papa Don rents every year. Melissa even made Grandma Potter's rolls...so good! It truly was a relaxing, beautiful Easter.

Fun with "Hamma Montana" and "Britney Spare-Ribs" at the Logandale Fair!

We just happened to be in town for the Logandale Fair! So, my sister and I took the kids for a day of SUN, cute animals, fried food, a silly Jack Sparrow Pirate and 1 carnival ride! And there's no way my children would let me forget the cotton candy and snow cones!

Random Favorites during our Spring Vacation

One of our FAVORITE Traditions...too bad Grandma Thelma wasn't there to join us...we've had 4 generations there at once before...G. Thelma, Sue, Jube and Ella! So fun! Thanks for all the pampering mom! Thanks for playing with the girls, Janice! Thanks for the picture Jen. Hugs and kisses.

100th Post!! 2nd Cousins...

Nothin' Like Cousins. Love all these kids.
Mariella-5, Caleb- 4 1/2, Sage- 3 1/2, Paisley- almost 3 1/2, Gavin-1, Mason- 8 months

It takes some major effort on the mama's and daddy's to make sure that these little cuties see eachother on a regular basis...we're going on 4 years that we have lived in different states and these kids have made EVERY trip worth it. Just to see them interact together is worth all the driving and drama to actually make it to the destination!

Happy 30th JAS!

My mom went all out again...we celebrated Jason's 30th and Ella's 5th Birthday! We had great homemade food, rainbow chip cupcakes, a makeover session with Ella's new make-up kit and lots of fun with Jason's dog Black Jack. The day before, my mom let Ella pick out whatever birthday gift she wanted from Walmart...she picked Rapunzel Barbie. And of course, Paisley didn't leave without a little something for herself as well.

I thought that I was seriously trippin' when our waiter strolled out with this HUGE plate of cotton candy. I looked at Ella in disbelief...the only thing I could come up with is that Ella had dreamt this, and it came true! We were all giddy children for at least 30 minutes as we indulged! Thanks for all of the dinners mom! She took the girls and I to lots of special lunches and dinners, including frequent trip to Sams Club for BIG slurpees and pretzels.

We had our last HOORAH at 21 Ocean Harbor during Conference weekend. Lara and Jeremy drove down and put on such a fun egg hunt for all the little girls! Thanks so much Paka, Mimi, Lara, Jeremy and Girls... we love you guys!

We are sure going to miss 21 Ocean Harbor...it is the house that introduced Scott and I... 7 years ago in June, and house that our girls called home. We enjoyed our last moments spending time on the swing set, making the pond into a shrine of flowers, throwing bouncy balls on the wood floor in Paka's empty den, taking our last rides on the elevator and just being together! We can't wait for all of the fun memories to come at the cottage!

Side Story:
I needed a change. It actually reminds me of when Tara dyed my hair for the very first time right before our eighth grade year. It wasn't the last time she did my hair. Karisa nicknamed me Rubianne, b/c it was quite the drastic change. See Tara, you were good at doing hair even BEFORE you went to hair school! :) LOL. My mother was livid! We had to sing in church the next Sunday and we spent all weekend trying to "wash" out the semi-permanent color! I kind of liked it and had been wanting to go dark again.

Family Skate Night

We met Kaye, Elise, Scotty and Pais at our favorite ice skating rink after Ella's scan for some major ice skating to music fun!

I felt like I was at Crystal Palace in Vegas all over again. (without the Frito Pies)

It was just the right temperature outside...the ice was actually melting a bit! We will FOR sure only ice skate on days that are above 55 degrees outside...it makes it worth the trip! We got lucky and went the three warmest days of the Winter this year! Hooray.

This was our favorite winter activity in The City, most definitely!

Ella's Brain

Last week Ella participated in a research study at Columbia University and let me just tell you how amazing and patient she was! The doctor told her "you're the hero today" before she went in! It was all-in-all, a pleasant experience. The study is going to be used to compare children who are "normal"and their brain activity compared to children who have different Pervasive Developmental Disorders. (Autism, Rett Syndrome, Childhood disintegrative disorder and others) Its pretty much on how the brain processes language.

She laid in a MRI Machine for over an HOUR (no drugs :) while she listened to a recording of mine and Scott's voice (forward and backwards), her favorite song (Somewhere Over the Rainbow, with lyrics and then without)and a few other regular scans with video and such...pretty interesting if you ask me! (I was in the room and got to keep my hand on her leg)

Plus we got some pictures of Ella's Brain to take home, until we get the actual mapped out versions. She was pretty proud of herself when she saw the pictures, it made the laying in a HUGE machine (with her head wedged so she couldn't move it) that clinked and clanked over and over again, worth it! (It was seriously the loudest machine I have ever heard and I was wearing earplugs!) We also got to see video...I have no idea what any of it means, but maybe we shall see later! These are just random pics that I posted...

Ella, I am so proud of you! You amaze me everyday. I can't believe how mature you've become and how loving and giving you are! You made a small difference in better explaining these rapidly growing disorders!
