The Fairway Park!

So here in New York, we've got Fairway Market "Like  No Other Market"  We don't go as often anymore because the big guys moved into the city last year and now we give our money to Target and Costco or Trader Joe's most of the time.  But sometimes, I just need a little Fairway in my life even though there are disturbing youtube videos of mice playing in olive vats! It's probably the only lot in Manhattan with free parking so we gotta take advantage sometimes.  This day, we shopped and picked up some lunch there, and then walked across the street to the Hudson River to enjoy the not so nice view HH Parkway on one side, and the close to our hearts,  George Washington Bridge on the other.  We shared the shade of a tree, where someone actually gave me their lawn chair so I could sit with a very young Vivi.  So kind.

Anyway!  This made me laugh.  Manhattan Mini Storage is known for their advertising slogans.  My favorite is,

"New York- Tolerant of your beliefs, judgmental of your shoes."

Hahahahahahahahaha.  Love it.

This is another fave.

Yup, I'm living that first hand, it's true stuff ya'll!

7.4.12

I've got some cute pics on my phone of the 4th...I should really get them off...

We watched fireworks on the  Hudson from our buildings rooftop/solarium.

KT had us over for a delicious meal, she did everything!  It was so nice! :)

The girls played that Dance Revolution game...

Earlier in the morning, we headed to a fun, free event up on Morningside Drive and about 115th, for a 4th of July Children's Parade.  Everyone decorated their scooters, bikes, strollers and we walked behind a fire truck up and down the street...

...and then when we got back to where we started, the real fun began!  Fire hydrant, hose partay!

Vivi was 2 weeks old and did wonderfully!

Happy Independence Day! :)  3 months ago.

Taxi's, Trains and Busses...at 4 days old!

This little babe was out and about in no time.  It was the last week of school, there was a lot going on with her sisters and we had to be there!

Lunch with Grandpa and Grandma at Artie's.

A beautiful old women was sitting across from us.  She sat and ate her Lox, Egg and Bagel slowly and glanced over at Vivi asking how old she was and told us how precious she was.  We told her she was 4 days old.  Then after she paid, she sat there at her table writing something down.  It reminded me of my Grandma Thelma.  Just enjoying her time, probably balancing her checkbook or making sure the bill was right...just keeping her mind sharp!  :)  Then she said to us, "Your baby is 4 days old.  And I am 32,0354 days old.  (That's an approximate.  :)  I can't remember the exact number but it was in the 32,000 area-- about 87 years old.  She's probably about 90 though, cause I remember doing the math then and it was in the 90's.  )  Of course my mom and I got teary.  She had been multiplying how old she was!  She was wonderful!  It's a fun memory of Vivi's first days.  It goes by so fast.

Papa cut a bunch of fruit up for Paisley's Class Party.  It was rained out, so they had to stay in the school to celebrate.  Did you know that my girl's school doesn't have air conditioning?  Doesn't that sound crazy?  Like it should be against the law?!  It is so blasted hot in that school...it's awful.  Look at these poor kids watching a movie, in the library!  Bless them!!

Paisley's stepping up ceremony from a Daisy Scout to a Brownie Scout!!  Grandma and Grandpa were there!  It was rainy!  And Vivi was 5 days old!  It was fun to be together and share some fun memories!
