One Fun Weekend.

This past weekend was what I like to call one of our busiest NYC weekends yet. It was full of surprises and lots of fun.

It started out with Elise coming over for a sleepover and telling us that Paka and Mimi were on their way to visit for the weekend! HOORAY! We were too excited and are still on a cloud from the good times we had.

Next we found out that the huge street fair that the the girls school puts on every year and that I was involved in planning, was switched from Saturday, to Sunday, because of rain. The same day as the Primary Program. I then realized it was time to start prioritizing and slashing out all of the commitments I had made, that could be neglected! We wanted to spend as much time as we could withour family!

Saturday we got up early, ran by the Grahams to hug Paka and Mimi and then headed to the primary program practice and dropped the girls off. Scott and I then met up with the rest of the family at The Corner Bakery on Broadway and 84th for a delicious Brunch! My first Brunch in NYC...Chocolate Banana Waffles with whipped cream and strawberries and Eggs Benedict. We then headed back down to the chapel in the rain with Paka and Mimi to get the girls dressed in their Halloween costumes for the ward primary activity. We were very lucky to get to see our dear friends the Jennejohn's who were in town this weekend from Delaware. It was the sweetest thing to watch Ella and Madeline embrace, for what seemed like 1 or 2 minutes! Precious. I'll have to get pictures from Paka from the church activity!

After I spent the afternoon helping set up for the street fair and after Paka and Mimi got a much needed nap from taking the Red Eye out here, we had Pizza and Salad at our place.

The primary program was sweet. Paisley was hidden and when we did see her she had her binky in her mouth or she was making funny faces. We were just lucky that she recited her part. Ella belted out all the songs and did a great job on her part. Plus, we were sitting in front of Mit Romney in sacrament meeting. We headed back to the Grahams had a yummy roast and then I went to man the Haunted House and finish up the cupcake decorating table activity that I had put myself in charge of. I never, ever knew how insane being a member of the PTA is, until now.

Monday we had a fun lunch with Paka and Mimi, picked Ella up from school and went to Georgia's French Bakery for a treat. We got creme brulee, cheesecake and a chocolate croissant. It was a beautiful day outside. That night, Gary made his famous shrimp linguine and we spent time together before Paka and Mimi headed down to North Carolina for a few days! I did take the girls out of school the morning they left to squeeze a little more love in. We lived with them before we moved to NYC, so we love it when we're together again.
We had been waiting for the perfect occasion to endulge and get the pretty gerbera daisies that are sold on our corner. This was it.
It was one fun weekend! Thanks for all of the treats, attention and love!! Come back soon, please?!? We miss you already!
