Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden

January 9, 2010

We, Kaye and Elise took a little trip to the Bronx for the last weekend of the Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Gardens. It was quite impressive...all buildings being made of natural materials, resin, nut shells, bark...look close enough and certain things will look familiar. I would really like to come here again when the gardens are bloomin' everywhere!

Some of these pictures wouldn't rotate for some reason.

They did have a fun activity that my girls actually engaged in. They made a field journal of the different spices used in gingerbread. They ground of the spices and everything, very hands on which I was pleased about. There were also gingerbread house displays.

Then we manned the crowd at Costco and could barely fit all our stuff in the car...like usual...Kaye had a nice homemade seat made out of Capri Sun boxes and Scott's coat on the way home.

That is one of our favorites every year! We have your costumes that REbecca gave us to give back! I am so sorry!

yea, when i think about it, i guess our journeys wouldn't be perfect without occasional mistakes and arguing on mine and scott's part, and misbehavior and fit throwing on the girls part...i try to not post about those things hoping that i'll forget about them someday! ;)

Well, those are journey's that help you learn more about compassion and love--the other journeys are those that build memories of all that love and laughter.
