I wanted to take the girls to see the Ringling Bro's Circus Elephants enter Manhattan through the Midtown Tunnel so badly last week...but they weren't expected to enter until after 12am. And it was raining. And it was a school night. And Scott wasn't willing to go with. (I don't blame him) There's always next year, right? (And I still don't know if I would be one of the ones boycotting the circus to be honest. It kind of hurts my heart to think about circus animals.)
So the next day we opted for FREE Ben and Jerry's. In the rain. On a school night. Scott wasn't home to go with us. As we walked to the bus stop and waited, and entered the bus with our drenched selves to go home I said, "Lets go back and get some more!" Both of them looked at me and rolled their eyes...I love their reactions. I can't fool them anymore....
...Except for when they were putting my Christmas presents under the tree after my mom had wrapped them and I quietly said..."Let me see what's inside, just let me peek it will be our secret!" They were appalled that I would say such a thing. Very disappointed in me, I felt. And I felt terrible saying it... I of course told them I was kidding and then we talked about why that wouldn't be okay. I just had to know if they would let me really do it, to peek at my presents! Oh our sweet girls, I love them!
