8...on Thursday.

1. Today I stopped by a new shopping center that opened about a year ago. Target, Costco and Old Navy...all in the same shopping center. In Manhattan. Heaven. Scott would say, "Best Buy, Game Stop and Costco...all in the same shopping center. In Manhattan. Heaven. (Those are there too.) :)" The only downfall is that parking in the garage is expensive and it's not the best area, although it's getting better. I refused to pay for parking to take a dress back to Old Navy, so I found a parking. Only 4 blocks away. As I walked back to our car, with my box of Costco goods and of course some Target treasures, I noticed an apartment window right by where I had parked that said,

"The drug dealers that deal outside my window, live in Apt. 213."

and

"I haven't slept in 4 days because I have no heat."

It looked like their own Facebook status updates or something, on their window. :)

There were a few other signs in the window and I wanted to take a picture, but I was kind of scared to and...I was carrying a box of milk, strawberries and target bags. Only in New York.

2.
Heart hair. I told myself never again as I did the girls hair that morning. Ella's had some form of heart hair every day since. It got easier and prettier!

We had a fun Valentine's day. We did a book theme for Valentine's this year, so Scott and I got a new cookbook and we got the girl's some of my favorite children's books...Love Ruby Valentine and Falling For Rapunzel. They also got the new Hello Kitty perfume that I redeemed my Sephora points for. A friend (Christina) showed this blog that was SO funny! It made me feel normal, as we had similar experiences in our household that day. Enjoy.

Scotty and I had a yummy lunch at Patsy's Pizzeria! (My first time!) It was really good. Put it on your list for next time, mom! Then we got Pinkberry! Thanks for the Valentine Date Scotty!

3. I love going through the girl's backpacks after a day at school and look at their work and upcoming events. I do not however, like receiving a note of a lice break-out in the classroom. I was up at 11 pm last night, with a flash light going through my children's hair. We have not been cursed just yet...wish us luck.

4. We have a Trader Joe's in the city! I'm so excited! But I am blaming their Triple Ginger Cookies, Peanut Butter Goodies and their Cinnamon rolls for my 5 lb. winter gain. Boo! Go get yours today! Oh, and their pizza dough that I make rolls out of.

5. A few weeks ago, Scott was looking at Fail Blog. He loves him some Fail Blog. I can't find the one now, but there was a fail about a child explaining what a hypothesis was. The child made some funny, non related answer and picture and the teacher marked it correct.

Scott said to me, "That's how Ella would explain it, and laughed." I yelled from the kitchen to Ella, in her bedroom, "Ella, what's a hypothesis?" Pause...."It's like...when you make a prediction!"

I was only looking for the word GUESS, if anything, Mariella, seriously! :)

She proved her daddy wrong. ;) LOL.

6. I went on a walking field trip with Ella's class to the Post Office. We saw a Dalmatian in a fire truck!!! There were almost tears of excitment.

Flat Stanley, on his way to Auntie Jen, in Vegas!!

While we were a the post office, the 1/2 of the children I was with (along with the assistant teacher) started getting a little rowdy for my liking. Let's just say there's nothing that me and a little primary song of "My hands upon my head I place" can't fix. ;)

7. We went to Elise's Middle School Winter Concert! She did such a fantastic job, playing the flute! We had to give her this sucker for having such good flute playing lips! Have I mentioned that she's like 18 inched taller than me now?! It's not fair.

8. Lastly, look at this little girl's handwriting! So cute.

Happy Mid-February!
