While we were at a playground this afternoon across the street from our apartment, Scott ran into the daughter of a women that he anesthetized just yesterday at Sloan Cancer Center. (crazy coincidence) They talked for a good while and then he came back over and told me about his darling experience with the woman's 90 year old mother the previous day while awaking her from her surgery.
She is from Argentina, so they were speaking in Spanish. The first thing he asked her as she was awaking is if she had good dreams. She replied, "Yes, about you and your beautiful eyes." (!) Her daughter chimed in saying that she couldn't believe that her mother just said that, that she is usually a very reserved woman. The daughter then said something like, "But mom, you're married and you have three kids." "I don't care." she says calmly. "Mom your husband is at home right now." says the daughter. "I don't care." says the mother.

Just like my licence plate cover states, She slept with the best during her surgery. ;)
She has to be admired for just coming out of major surgery and being so positive and optimistic. She must have been whispered to from the sandman while sleeping, b/c she knew that Scotty needed some love and praise, because in this program, that kind of stuff doesn't come from your preceptor. :)
Scott said she was so cute to listen to as she was dazedly waking up and that his preceptor was wanting in on the conversation because they were giggling and she didn't understand the Spanish.
I love when he comes home with stories like this. It gives us something to laugh at! Because I promise ya'll... it ain't all fun n' games round here when we've all had a bad day.
We hope that sweet lady has a speedy recovery!

what a crack up!! humor is a pretty good medicine for some bad days!!
You better watch out. Most of us only have to worry about the young ones but you just might have to fight off some old ones too! I love it.
