The big day came when Ella was ready to get her ear's peirced. I took the girls out to New Jersey to take a few things back to the mall and when we walked past Claire's, Ella said that she was ready. We wanted daddy to be there though, so we decided to hold off until the next day, where we went together to the Claire's right down the street from us on 82nd and Broadway. We were open to having Paisley get her's done as well, but she decided, "I think I'll wait until I'm 5 or 6." Good choice, Peso. Ella first wanted these phat diamond earrings, they were huge, but we opted for these pretty square diamonds instead. Everything went well until, well watch the video and see for yourself... :) Don't cry.
(Ella's Ears Video)
We ended up having to hold her down, four of us to be exact. I had wondered if going to a Doctor's office to have it done, in a quiet, less stimulating place would have been better for her, but she seemed like she was ready and ready for the responsibility. After all was said and done, she told Scotty, "That's just how it had to be..." with a sweet smile.
She got a little anxiety from me, I'm sure. We can ride rollercoasters all day, but when it comes to pain, or say, the dark, we're a mess! I love that girl.
She is VERY happy with the final outcome and is taking care of her ears very well! It is fun watching her grow up and take such good care of herself.

It's a good video huh? She laughs at pain, like her mommy. The rest of the video would have been 90 minutes long...she needed time to breath and for her stomach to settle. She did the best that she could, I could tell.
Seriously the best video, I love that she was totally happy with one. haha. I did Sadie's when she was 6 weeks old, well actually I had my sister hold her cause I felt to bad, so if this would have been me we probably would have walked out with one pierced ear. haha
Great video. Loved it! Yeah for pierced ears.
Emily, you are so funny. My thoughts have totally changed about waiting to pierce ears until they're older...part of me wishes I had done it when they were babies...if I had... a. they obviously wouldn't remember and b. they would think that they were just born with them and that there's no need to get anymore! I got a few too many myself... :)
That is hilarious that your sister held her...I totally would have been crying, I did last week and Ella is 6!
We've been thinking about doing Emma's when she's still too small to freak out... I got mine at 7 and I remember being so scared! We might do Em's for her first birthday, but we'll see! I don't remember if it was my first or second periecing that they did both ears at the same time, it was awesome!
