Sweet Innocence

Posted by Picasa

I remember LOVING being at the ages of about 4-5...probably b/c I remember those years, yet I was still at an age of complete innocence...so it is no wonder that I have been relishing almost every minute with my little 3 and almost 5 year old. We have been spending an ample amount of time just sprawled out on the bottom bunk, (wishing their grandma's were there with us) playing "Go Fish" and "Memory".

One particular day I was feeling especially giddy and when Paisley said something funny, Ella and I bust out laughing. I saw Ella focus in on my eyes as I was still laughing and say...

"Mommy, you are beautiful like that. Why are you so beautiful like that?"

(I know, poor child's never seen her mom laugh.) We've been doing a lot more laughing since then. These types of comments make up for the following one.

3 hours later in the same location, I am alone with Paisley and she comes up with this correlation...

"Mommy, did you cook yourself?"

"What?" I say.

"You know, did you cook yourself? Is that why you're all SMOOSHY AND MUSHY?"

I don't know about you, and as true as it may be, SMOOSHY and MUSHY are just about the last words I would like someone describing me as. But, for as many sweet things that she says to me all day, everyday, comments like this make me really trust her opinion.

It is a really GREAT age!!!!! and all the funny things they say, i love that Ella thought you were Smooshy and Mushy.....you are the TOTAL opposite of anything smooshy or Mushy!!!!!!
I love when they are teeny tiny babies....but it does not last long enough!!!!

The beautiful comment makes up for the smooshy and mushy comment! That is the cutest thing Ive ever heard. If its any consolation, Ryan keeps telling me," your belly sure is getting big." Ah, kids, you gotta love em!
